Best Resorts in Georgia (Country): 3 Stays Compared

Finding the best resorts in Georgia—the country in the South Caucasus—starts with deciding how you want to spend a full day without sightseeing. Lopota suits a lakeside break in Kakheti, Paragraph Shekvetili puts indoor entertainment beside the Black Sea, and Borjomi Likani offers a park setting with spa facilities. This guide compares those three options by location, season, family needs and the practical details that change a booking decision.

This is a planning shortlist based on the hotels' published information, checked on 30 October 2026, rather than a claim that we have personally tested every room. Recommendations below reflect different trip styles; room availability and facility access still need confirmation for your dates.

Best resorts in Georgia: the quick choice

Choose the setting first, then compare the actual room and meal package. These properties are in different parts of the country, so swapping one for another can change your whole route.

  • Lopota Lake Resort & Spa: shortlist it for a lake-and-countryside stay around Napareuli in Kakheti, with activities on the property and the option of exploring wine country.
  • Paragraph Resort & Spa Shekvetili: shortlist it for a coastal family break where the hotel's indoor water attractions matter as much as the beach.
  • Borjomi Likani: shortlist it for a slower stay among trees in Borjomi, with spa time and manageable outings into town. Check pool maintenance before committing.

For a short first visit, we would normally combine one resort with a city stay rather than try all three. You get a proper rest day, avoid repeated packing, and leave time for the places that brought you to Georgia.

If your main question is which town or neighborhood to sleep in, start with our guide to where to stay in Georgia. Here, the focus is choosing between specific resort experiences.

Lopota Lake Resort & Spa: a lakeside break in Kakheti

Lopota is in Napareuli, in the Kakheti region. Georgia's national tourism portal describes a lake resort combining accommodation, recreation and spa facilities. Its setting makes it a sensible candidate when you want countryside time within an eastern Georgia itinerary. See the official tourism listing for Lopota.

We would choose it for a trip that needs a pause after Tbilisi: breakfast without an early departure, time outside, and an activity chosen around the family's energy. It is less compelling if you intend to leave immediately after breakfast every day and return only to sleep.

What changes with the season

The resort's current spa and wellness page lists an indoor pool and Finnish sauna, alongside seven outdoor pools. The outdoor pools are described as seasonal, operating from May to September. That distinction matters: a November reservation should not be based on a summer pool photograph.

The experience page also presents a kids' club, cycling, horse riding and other recreation. Its Green Aqua attraction is seasonal in summer. Treat these as options to check for your dates, not a promise that every activity is included or running whenever you arrive.

Before booking, identify the two activities you actually want and ask about their schedule, fees and age restrictions. That produces a more useful answer than asking whether the hotel is “family friendly.”

How to fit Lopota into your trip

Our planning suggestion is two nights if you want one uninterrupted resort day. With only one night, check-in, dinner and checkout can consume most of the stay.

Add one countryside outing if you have longer, rather than turning every day into a road trip. Our Kakheti wine guide helps you choose the cultural or food side of that visit. You do not need to drink wine to enjoy a countryside stay; choose activities that suit your group.

Ask where your room sits relative to the restaurant, indoor pool and parking. For a family carrying a stroller or traveling with grandparents, those everyday distances can matter more than a higher room category.

Paragraph Shekvetili: a coastal resort with indoor attractions

Paragraph Resort & Spa Shekvetili is a different proposition: a Black Sea stay beside pine forest, with substantial entertainment inside the hotel. Marriott's official property page lists an indoor waterpark, aquarium, spa and an outdoor saltwater pool extending over the sea. It also lists a kids' club.

We would put it first on this shortlist for families whose main aim is time at the resort itself. The appeal is having several things to do without building each day around another transfer.

Shekvetili is not central Batumi. Choose it because you want a resort break on the coast, and give Batumi its own time if city restaurants and waterfront sightseeing are priorities.

What to check for autumn and winter

An indoor attraction is useful when beach weather is not the point of the trip. However, “indoor” does not guarantee that every pool, slide or children's session operates on your exact dates.

Marriott's separate experiences page lists indoor and outdoor pools and a waterslide. Before a stay built around swimming, request confirmation of maintenance closures, children's access and any height limits. Ask about pool temperature if that is important to your children.

Book a room based on the sleeping arrangement, not simply the word “family” in a search filter. Confirm whether the quoted rate includes the required beds and whether separate rooms can be guaranteed to connect.

How to fit Shekvetili into your route

Marriott identifies Batumi Airport as the closest airport. That makes a coast-focused arrival worth comparing with a Tbilisi round trip, although the best choice depends on your actual flights.

Our suggestion is at least two nights, and preferably three if the resort is the main family holiday rather than a brief stop. A coast stay squeezed between two long travel days leaves little time for the facilities you paid for.

For a mixed itinerary, use our Batumi travel guide to decide whether you want a separate city stay. Arrange transfers around your own arrival and departure times; a hotel's location on a map does not tell you how a late flight will feel with tired children.

Borjomi Likani: park surroundings and spa time

Borjomi Likani is at 16 Meskheti Street in Borjomi. Its official hotel information describes a property within a coniferous park. We would consider it for travelers who prefer a slower rhythm and time among trees, with the town as an outing rather than a packed sightseeing program.

The hotel's spa page lists a swimming pool, jacuzzi, fitness facilities, saunas and Turkish bath. Compare the facilities you intend to use with the inclusions in your chosen rate. A hotel having a treatment menu does not mean treatments are part of the room price.

A pool check worth making before payment

At the time of research, the official site displayed a pool maintenance notice for 30 November through 4 December, but the notice did not specify a year. We cannot establish from that page whether those dates apply to your stay.

If swimming is the reason you are booking, ask the hotel for written confirmation that the pool will operate on your exact dates. Do not interpret an undated notice as either a confirmed 2026 closure or proof that all facilities are open.

The kids' club page describes outdoor activities and a playground. For a cold-weather family visit, ask specifically what supervised indoor activities are available, rather than assuming a summer program continues unchanged.

How to plan a Borjomi stay

Two nights is our suggested starting point for a restful visit: one arrival afternoon, one full day, and a departure that does not feel rushed. Use our Borjomi guide to choose a town or park outing around the weather.

Keep your hotel spa booking separate from plans to visit public pools elsewhere in Borjomi. They are different experiences, with their own access arrangements. You can enjoy a park-and-spa holiday without booking a medical program or making health benefits the purpose of the trip.

What a resort stay will really cost

We have not attached a nightly price to these hotels because no travel dates, room setup or party size have been specified. A headline rate for two adults is a poor comparison for a family requiring extra beds and meals.

Request the same specification from each shortlisted property:

  • Exact dates and the ages of every child.
  • Bed arrangement, room category and whether connecting rooms are guaranteed.
  • Breakfast only, half board or another clearly defined meal plan.
  • Pool and spa access included in that rate.
  • Extra charges for children's activities, treatments and late checkout.
  • Transfer cost, cancellation deadline and the total payable amount.

Then compare the whole stay. A cheaper room can become the more expensive option once you add meals, transport and activities.

“Resort” also does not mean “all inclusive.” Ask what the quoted package covers and what you would pay separately. If you expect to spend most of your time on site, meal costs deserve the same attention as the room.

Practical checks for families and Gulf travelers

Choose the room around how your family sleeps. Parents traveling with young children may prefer everyone together; teenagers may need separate beds or more privacy. Confirm the arrangement before paying a non-refundable rate.

If halal food is essential, ask the property directly about the ingredients and preparation of the meals you would order. A hotel serving international cuisine or vegetarian options does not by itself establish halal certification. Specify your requirements clearly and request a written response.

For swimming privacy, ask whether any private sessions or facilities can actually be reserved. A spa photograph cannot establish who will share the space during your visit. These checks are especially useful when one person handles the booking for a larger family.

Also ask about step-free access between your room and the facilities you plan to use. A lift in the main building does not answer every accessibility question across a resort property.

Build the trip around one proper rest day

For a compact eastern Georgia holiday, we would pair Tbilisi with Lopota. For a slower forest stay, consider Tbilisi and Borjomi Likani. For a holiday centered on coastal resort facilities, start by checking flights that work with Shekvetili and time in Batumi.

These are route suggestions, not fixed packages. Pick one based on your dates and priorities, then protect at least one full day without a checkout or major transfer.

If you include Tbilisi, our bookable private Tbilisi city tour can cover the city portion of your holiday. Resort accommodation and transfers should be arranged separately unless they are explicitly included in your booking.

The best resort choice is the one whose location, operating facilities and room arrangement match the holiday you want. Confirm those three things first; the view from the balcony comes after.

Frequently asked questions

Which are the best resorts in Georgia for families?
For Georgia the country, this shortlist starts with Paragraph Shekvetili for indoor water attractions, Lopota for a lakeside activity break, and Borjomi Likani for park surroundings and spa time. The best fit depends on children's ages, your route and the facilities operating during your stay.
Is Lopota or Paragraph better for a short Georgia trip?
Lopota fits an eastern Georgia route around Tbilisi and Kakheti. Paragraph suits a coastal stay around Shekvetili and Batumi. Choose the one that fits your flights and gives you a full resort day, rather than adding a long transfer just to visit both.
Can you visit these resorts in November or winter?
You can consider them for a cold-weather stay, but check exact-date operations before booking. Lopota lists its outdoor pools as May–September seasonal facilities. Confirm indoor pool access and maintenance at every property, especially if swimming is central to the trip.
Are resorts in Georgia all inclusive?
Do not assume so. Ask for a written list of included meals, drinks, pool access and activities for your particular rate. Compare the total for your family, including extra beds and transfers, rather than a headline room price.
How many nights should you spend at a resort in Georgia?
We suggest two nights as a useful minimum because that gives you one full day without checking in or out. Three nights can work better for a family resort holiday, especially if you want both time on site and an outing.
