Overview
What to expect
This private full-day tour takes you from Tbilisi into the High Caucasus along the Georgian Military Highway — one of the most scenic drives in the country — ending beneath Mount Kazbek at the famous Gergeti Trinity Church.
The route includes the classic stops that make this Georgia's most popular mountain day trip: Ananuri Fortress on the shore of the turquoise Zhinvali Reservoir, panoramic viewpoints around Gudauri including the Russia–Georgia Friendship Monument, and the town of Stepantsminda (Kazbegi) at the foot of the mountains.
Because the tour is private, the pace is yours: stop for photos whenever the view demands it, spend longer at the places you love, and adjust the route with your driver-guide on the day.
From Stepantsminda, you can reach Gergeti Trinity Church by local 4WD transfer (paid separately on site) or on foot for those who prefer the 1.5–2 hour uphill hike. The church sits at roughly 2,170 meters with Mount Kazbek rising behind it on clear days.
